Arab Forum at IMA in Paris

Renewal in the Arab world was the title of this interesting two-day conference at the Institut du Monde Arabe in Paris. Jack Lang, former Minister of Culture, the Institute’s director inaugurated the conference together with President Hollande.

A colourful couple

Robert and Sonia Delaunay were known as pioneers in abstract art. However it’s mostly Robert who is known. A large retrospective of Sonia’s works shown at the Musée d’Art Moderne in Paris was therefore very welcome.

Paris being one of the most popular jazz cities, Duc des Lombards is a must!  Jan Lundgren Trio managed to take this difficult public by storm. A roar followed them especially after having played a song of their album Flowers of Sendai. This time he’ll play at the Swedish Club in Paris.

Terrorist attack against a satiric newspaper

Charlie Hebdo – the French satiric newspaper has been threatened before. Their satiric drawings against the Islamists have angered fundamentalists. Therefore the newspaper and its journalists have been under police-protection since the previous attack against its office in 2011. That didn’t prevent the assailants this time though…
