Den Dansante Dandyn

Den Dansante Dandyn

My last Book is out! Still only in Swedish (www.adlibris.com): The Dancing Dandy: it’s a historic novel about Jean Börlin – my great-uncle who was the choreographer and dancer of the Swedish Ballet in Paris between 1920-25 among others… he was also a homosexual which was difficult during those days but he and his lover, Rolf de Maré, found a safe haven in the happy 20s in Paris among great artists such as Fernand Léger, Picabia, Cocteau, Dardel, Satie…this story is about this great adventure, the surrealists, the artists, the ups and downs of a very special time in history but it’s especially about Jean Börlin, this amazing creator who did so much for the dance scene but also for many then unknown artists – who offered them a possibility – many of whom later became famous. Jean himself died young and too little has been written about him so far. May this be a beginning!
