Ett-års dagen för den arabiska revolutionen firades av vissa men var för andra en smärtsam påminnelse om de som har dött eller skadats för en utebliven frihet. För dessa fortsätter kampen.
The Arab revolution’s first year was celebrated by some but for others it was a painful memory of the ones that died or were injured for a freedom yet to be conquered. For those the revolution continues.

Paris är känt som en filmstad men börjar alltmer framträda även som ett centrum för fotografiutställningar. Diane Arbus retrospektiv ger en bister men klar bild av Amerika under 1950- och -60talen; Jean-Paul Goudes retrospektiv är tvärtemot glatt och färgrikt och slutligen Youssef Nabil visar upp nostalgiska och provokativa fotografier från Mellersta Östern.
Paris being known as a ’film-capital’, is evolving towards a center for great photography shows. Diane Arbus reptrospective gives a somber albeit clear picture of America in the the 1950s-60s; the retrospective of Jean-Paul Goude is on the contrary playful and full of colour and finally Youssef Nabil’s show opens up the door for nostalgic Middle Eastern movies.

At the opening last year – with Pontus as the first artist to be shown – the gallery was over-crowded.
This year’s vernissage was not a disapointment either despite hard times in France. Valérie – a charming French woman – is happy with the exhibition and believes in her protégé. Galerie Charlot is situated in the heart of Paris gallery district. Pontus has lived and worked in New York and Berlin and is now happy to be back in the Parisian art scene.

Detta årets vernissage var även det lyckat trots de hårda tiderna vi lever i. Valérie – den charmanta ägarinnan – är nöjd med utställningen och tror på sin protégé. Efter år i New York och Berlin har nu Pontus kommit tillbaka till Paris konstscen.

Denna udda utställning visas på Paris ”concièrgerie” – slottsfogdes bostad – närmare känt som Marie-Antoinettes och Ludvig XVI:s fängelsehåla. Mitt i den äldsta delen av huvudstaden, längst med floden, ligger detta gamla kungapalats som nu får dela sina salar med diverse konstnärers syn på djur.
This exhibition of a different kind is shown at Paris ”concièrgerie”- more known as the prison of the late King Louis XVI and his wife Marie-Antoinette. This ancient palace is situated along the river Seine, in the oldest part of the capital. Its vaults share for the time being their space with different artists views on animals.
Bou el Moghdad
Bou el Moghdad heter den charmiga båten som seglar längst med floden från St-Louis till ett av världens fågelrikaste områden i Djoudj. Richard Tolls sockerfabrik, Dagana med dess marknad, nomadfolket Peulhs byar samt en avstickare till en by i Mauritanien, och slutligen Podor med sitt fort.
Bou el Moghdad is the name of the charming boat that sails along the river from St-Louis to one of the world’s richest birds’ park in Djoudj. It continues to Richard Toll’s sugarcane district, Dagana with its market, the villages of the nomad tribes Peulhs and Toucouleurs, another village in Mauritania to finish the trip at Podor with its colonial style fort.
